| P. Albert Bienvenu, 61, New Orleans, Louisiana, DKE International Board of Directors 1986 to present; Rampant Lion Foundation, Board of Trustees 2008 to present and secretary, 2009.
Born in 1948, a lifetime resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, Al is married to his life long sweetheart, Elizabeth (“Betty”) Viguerie, also of New Orleans. They have four children Al, Jean-Pierre, Elizabeth and Andre and six grandchildren. Their sons are all Dekes, Al, ZZ 1992, Jean-Pierre ZZ 1996, and Andre, X 2009; daughter Elizabeth is a Delta Gamma. He was graduated in 1970 from LSU with a BA degree and in 1973 with a JD. Since 1973 he has practiced law in New Orleans and is a member/manager of Bienvenu, Foster, Ryan & O’Bannon, L.L.C. and is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Louisiana and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a litigator and negotiator in matters concerning various contracts, mineral interests, condemnation/eminent domain, land regulatory matters, and contamination, various tort based disputes, arson and fraud. He is past president of the New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel, is a volunteer arbitrator for the Louisiana State Bar Association fee dispute resolution program, is a fellow of Louisiana Bar Foundation and is member of the Louisiana, American, federal and New Orleans bar associations. In the early 1980's, Al undertook and led a fund raising effort which refinanced and provided new capital for renovation of the 1923 ZZ chapter house which he oversaw. Since the early 1980's through the present, Al has been involved in numerous and varied dealings with university officials on behalf of the Zeta Zeta, Tau Lambda and Chi chapters. He has recently assisted with the re-formation of the Chi alumni association and its charter as a legal entity. He has and continues to render legal counseling to those chapters and their alumni associations. In the 1990's he and Betty organized the ZZ chapter mothers and alumni for assisting the ZZ chapter with putting on rush parties, homecoming parties and she helped with decorations for the chapter house. In 1992 he and Betty hosted a cocktail party and dinner at their home for approximately 600 actives, alumni and their guests from all parts of the U. S. and Canada as part of the DKE 150th anniversary celebration. He was the recipient in 1992 of the Bill Henderson Alumni Award of DKE International. He joined the board of directors of DKE International as southern regional director in 1986 and has been continually re-elected to that position. In June of 2008 he was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Rampant Lion Foundation and in 2009 was elected secretary of the foundation. His leisure interests include boating/sailing, hunting and firearms, tinkering (woodwork, metal work, mechanics) classic automobiles, hiking, cooking, reading, music, sitting on the beach and enjoying many of these leisure activities with his family. |

Founder and President of Qualcon. As the past Chair of the Southeast Council Board of Directors of AeA (formerly the American Electronics Association), Mr. Bilbrough served on the Southeast Council Board and has served as a member of AeA’s National Board of Directors and as National Chair of the AeA Small Business Task Force. In 2002 and 2003, the Atlanta Business Chronicle named Mr. Bilbrough to their exclusive list of leaders in Georgia's technology industry. The Chronicle's criteria included high-tech professionals, "that are looked on as leaders in their field and who through personal influence exercise great influence among other leaders." Georgia Secretary of State Cathy Cox proclaimed Mr. Bilbrough an Outstanding Georgia Citizen and named him to the Georgia Goodwill Ambassador Corp on June 25, 2001. Mr. Bilbrough is a founding member of Georgia’s Technology Education Coalition and a past member of Georgia’s Technology Leadership Coalition. He is a member of Georgia’s Technology Executives Roundtable, and a member of Atlanta’s High Tech CEO Council. Mr. Bilbrough was a 2000-2002 member of Circuits Assembly Magazine’s Editorial Review Board. Mr. Bilbrough is the recipient of the inaugural Georgia Technology Leadership Award for Technology Application, presented by Georgia Governor Roy Barnes and SciTrek. Mr. Bilbrough was a 2001 Southeast Region finalist for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce’s Small Businessperson of the Year. In December of 1998, Mr. Bilbrough to addressed the IPC’s annual Presidents’ Meeting. Mr. Bilbrough’s presentation entitled Continuous Flow Manufacturing in the Electronics Manufacturing Services Industry was selected as the single best idea from the conference by the participants. IPC is the trade and standards association representing U.S. electronics manufacturers. |

![]() Andrew Bird currently serves as an at large member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Board of Directors. He is an alumnus of the Sigma Kappa chapter of DKE at Michigan State. Previously Andrew served five years with DKE International Headquarters staff, first as a Travelling Consultant, then as Director of Chapter Services. In that role Andrew expanded DKE to several campuses, including operating the re-activation of the Chi chapter. He was also responsible for planning three international conventions. Andrew currently resides in Washington, DC and works for the United States Chamber of Commerce. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation representing and lobbying for more than 3 million global businesses of all sizes and sectors. Andrew currently also serves on the board of So Others Might Eat’s junior gala, a DC based charity benefit aiding the local homeless population. He is also active with other DC based charities such as, The Capital Club, A Taste of the South, WVSA Charter School for Arts in Learning and Virginia Gold Cup. One of his most prized possessions is the lifelong bond he has to Deke from the five years he worked for the organization. Having visited nearly every chapter, he has formed bonds with Dekes nationwide that will never be broken. |

| Matt Blevins, Iota/Centre '99 | |
Matt Blevins lives in Louisville, KY with his wife and two children. He is a proud DKE from the Iota chapter at Centre College in Danville, KY where he served as Treasurer and President of the chapter. He is currently working with other Iota alumni to re-colonize DKE at Centre after a four-year “hiatus.”Matt works in marketing for Brown-Forman Corporation one of the largest American-owned spirits and wine companies with brands in 135 countries including Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Southern Comfort, Finlandia Vodka, Herradura Tequila and over 30 other fine wine and spirit brands. He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Cincinnati and a B.A. Economics from Centre. Matt enjoys spending time with his family, the local culture including horse racing and Kentucky Bourbon (recommends Old Forester), and is known to play in a few local poker games. |

The Honourable Mr. Justice Grant Burnyeat, as he is referred to today, was named Undergraduate Deke of the Year in 1968, launching a lifelong career supporting DKE. He began that career officially on DKE’s professional staff, serving as assistant traveling secretary in 1968, authoring the fraternity’s operating manuals and pledge/history manuals. He has since served his chapter twice as president of its alumni association, attending the initiation of members at Phi Alpha for 25 years in a row. A prodigious buyer of Deke memorabilia, filling what can only be called a DKE museum at the Phi Alpha chapter house, Grant was appointed to the DKE International Board earlier this year, and he is seeking re-election. For nearly 25 years, Grant focused his professional life on insolvency law, working with receiverships, restructuring and foreclosures in and around British Columbia. In 1992 he was appointed to the Queen’s Counsel, and in 1996 he was appointed to the Supreme Court of British Columbia, where he continues to serve today. A rare honor, Grant was a recipient of The Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal. A recognized leader and University success story, he also was named one of 75 Outstanding University of British Columbia Graduates during the 75th anniversary of U.B.C. He has served U.B.C. in many ways, including a term as president of its alumni association, six years as a member of its senate, and chair of its Alumni Network. He also has served on dozens of civic and arts-related boards in and around British Columbia. A historian at heart, Grant has focused his attention over the last several years on researching DKE’s founding days at Yale, including the original purpose and focus of the fraternity. Last year, he discovered a previously unknown portrait of DKE Founder Henry Case, a face seen by no Deke for more than 100 years. |

| Mosah Fernandez-Goodman, Gamma Phi/Wesleyan '04 | |
| Mosah Fernandez-Goodman pledged the Gamma Phi chapter of DKE at Wesleyan University in 2001, serving as president of the chapter while lettering in football and swimming during his undergraduate career. After graduating in 2004, Mosah joined the Gamma Phi Chapter Board of Directors and has served the board for the last five years, helping the chapter with fundraising, recruitment, and management. Mosah spent an additional three years at Wesleyan, working in the University’s advancement office and helping to raise approximately $3 million for the Wesleyan Fund. His fundraising ability caught the eye of DKE International in 2007, when he first was elected to the DKE International Board of Directors, and he continues on the board today and is seeking re-election. For DKE International, Mosah has developed several fundraising/budgeting initiatives proposed to the board. He currently is the vice president of the graduate student body at the University of Iowa, where he is pursuing a combination JD and MBA degree that focuses on the intersection of law and business. He will work for Ford Motor Company this summer and hopes to work in industry after earning the graduate degrees. | |

Doug graduated from Vanderbilt with a degree in American History, and worked for the DKE headquarters out of New York City for three years, including one year as Executive Secretary. Doug then embarked on a career in sales and sales management in the Direct Marketing industry, starting in the non-profit industry, with a later focus on financial, insurance, retail, and catalog companies.
Doug also owns a direct marketing services company in the Chicago suburbs called Direct Response Marketing. His involvement with DKE has been at the international and local level. He re-started the Gamma Alumni Association in 2003, and is currently its President. Brother Lanpher served on the DKE Board of Directors until his appointment as Interim Executive Director. On a personal level, Doug is married and has two children ages 23 and 21; is an avid runner (16 marathons) and officiates high school baseball as an umpire and basketball as a referee. |

Charles Rudd Mackenzie, J.D., Theta ’84, is currently serving as a teaching fellow at High School of Art & Design High School in New York City. After graduating from Bowdoin College in 1987, Brother Mackenzie taught at St. David’s School before serving as a legislative aide to U.S. Senator John Chafee, Phi ‘46. He then attended Western New England College and Vermont Law School, earning two law degrees. From 1995 to 2005, Brother Mackenzie was a member of the New York State Bar in private practice. He then worked briefly for Merrill Lynch before accepting the teaching fellowship. In the brotherhood, Mackenzie served as house manager and two terms as undergraduate vice president of Theta Chapter, and has remained active as an alumnus ever since then. He helped initiate many of Theta Deke’s most recent pledge classes, and assisted counsel in Deke’s litigation battle with Middlebury and Bowdoin Colleges. |

LIEUTENANT COLONEL (RETIRED) SCOT W. MERKLE is an active and continuous supporter of DKE, at the 2005 DKE Convention, Lieutenant Colonel Merkle received the “DKE Band of Brothers” award. Along with other distinguished Alpha Mu Alumni they have kept the DKE Alpha Mu Chapter at Glassboro State / Rowan University alive and active for over 27+ years. Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Merkle served this great Country with over 24+ years of dedicated and faithful service in the U.S. Army. Accomplished leadership professional with proven success directing international and global operations to support the vision, expansion, and long-term success of the United States Army, Scot maintains a superb understanding of the Asia-Pacific, especially the Asian cultures of Mongolia, Republic of Korea (ROK), including outstanding Korean Language skills, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, India, and Russia Far East (RFE). Scot continues to serve this great Country today as a “Senior Operations and Intelligence Analyst” on the Joint Staff, J-37, Deputy Director for Special Operations (DDSO), Plans, Policy, and Exercises (PP&E) at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. He exudes an uncanny excellent capacity for assembling high-performance teams and providing guidance and support during large-scale initiatives. His solid background in project management, Asia-Pacific cultures, resource allocation, operations and training, human resource management, logistics, and budgeting, along with his erudite vision and precision, with perseverance in overcoming obstacles to deliver measurable results is what DKE needs on their Board of Directors. Scot maintains outstanding physical fitness and excellent health by continuing to play ice hockey, which he lettered in at Glassboro State while an active DKE. He plays today on the “Dale City Mustangs,” the Autumn 2008 and Winter 2009 Northern Virginia Champions. He is active in local community youth sporting events and coaches his son, Hawthorne Merkle’s Soccer Team, while assisting with his daughter, Helen Merkle’s team, who is on the Prince William County Courage Travel Team. Together they support their Mom, Colonel Jennifer E. Merkle, who is deployed to Iraq serving as the Chief, MNF-I, J-2, R&S. |

![]() Mason is a Lambda/Kenyon Deke who graduated in 1988. At Kenyon, he served as secretary and vice president of the chapter. While an undergrad, he also was awarded varsity letters in soccer each of his four years before graduating with a B.A. in economics in 1988. Moving to New York City, Mason has worked in sales since his active chapter days, including a five-year stint with a 50-year-old family business, A. Morjikian & Co., where he helped expand the decorative floor covering company before engineering a merger with a larger competitor. Mason was elected to the DKE Club board in 1996 and then elected president of the board in 2005. He continues to serve as a director. Today he is vice president and general manager of the floor covering division of F. Schumacher & Co., a firm he has been with since 2004. Mason and his wife, Livia, have an eight-year-old son, Henry, and in addition to serving as an assistant soccer coach for Henry’s team, Mason enjoys skiing, fly fishing and hiking. |

| Tom is a Computer Science and Engineering senior at Michigan State University, and is preparing for law school next fall, most likely in the DC area. He served for close to two years as president of the Sigma Kappa chapter, and in his time brought them into the fold of the local IFC (which they had never joined in their 10-year history) He also moved Sigma Kappa back to normalized relations with DKE International, among other achievements. He hopes his experience can be of value to the Board and to the undergraduate brothers he will be representing. | |
