Biographical Sketch

I am currently a senior majoring in history at Princeton University. I find history to be an interesting and fulfilling pursuit, but my true passion lies in the art of storytelling. The power of stories has always fascinated me. There is something so fundamentally spiritual about a story; myths, fables, and the make-believe have a power to penetrate us so fully that our raw emotions become wrapped in something entirely fictional. We laugh, we cry, we sincerely follow the characters and fear for them as if they were our own children. I want to hone my craft and dedicate my life to the art of story telling because through something as simple as a story, we learn about ourselves more deeply. In regards to past experience, I’ve written a One Act play that I directed for my high school, created a sitcom that plays on our University TV station, and am currently directing another short film I have written. My plans after graduation are to pursue a career in the film industry, as I’ve held internships at various production companies over my past summers. I’m currently writing a full-length screenplay that I hope to shop around, and with any luck, sell. The following short story is a nostalgia piece that takes a sudden turn. I hope you enjoy.
