Zeta Zeta
150th Anniversary
16 - 17 May 2008
UPDATE: March 31, 2008: It is confirmed that a tour of the LSU Football Tigers Athletic Complex will be included in our agenda of weekend events. Saturday morning we will have a bus available to leave the hotel at 10 AM for the drive to campus and the football operations complex. We will be met there by a senior member of the Tiger Athletic Foundation (TAF) staff and be given a guided tour of the dressing rooms, practice fields, indoor facility, weight rooms, meeting rooms, training rooms, etc. Do not miss the opportunity to view the home of the REAL football Tigers and national champions.
Our weekend's program is now firm. We cannot squeeze in much more activity beginning with registration Friday afternoon May 16th at the Capitol Hilton Hotel, hospitality suite that afternoon, Live at Five band concert outside of the hotel, great cocktail reception with jazz band in the Bert S. Turner Family atrium of the Louisiana State Art and Science Museum, hospitality suite again at the hotel afterwards. Saturday morning tour of the football operations complex, LUCKY DOGS and cold beer at Fred's Bar and Grill in the afternoon, golfing for those who wish to play in the afternoon, cocktail reception and seated dinner in the evening, dance band after dinner and finally farewell brunch on Sunday. There will also be many opportunities for the ladies to shop downtown and/or individual groups to do sightseeing on their own. The Baton Rouge Convention Bureau staff will be on hand at registration to give out info and tips on much of this type activity.

UPDATE: Oct. 16, 2007: GOLF OUTING Brother Caldwell Roberts and his golf outing committee are planning a grand event for Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the LSU Golf Course. Preliminary plans are for a four-man scramble which limits the outing to 120 players. Anybody interested in participating in this activity should e-mail Brother Roberts. As soon as we get an idea of how many players are interested, the committee can finalize ideas for competition ideas, prizes, costs per player, etc. So, if all of you golfers want to show off as you make the turn in front of Fred's get in touch with Caldwell quickly.

UPDATE: Sept. 20, 2007: Part of our Saturday afternoon plans are now complete as arrangements have been finalized with the management of Fred's Bar and Grill for an afternoon of brotherhood and entertainment at this LSU off-campus institution. All of our younger Zeta Zeta alums are familiar with Fred's, and for you older guys just think Tony Drago's Tiger Lounge, the Cotton Club, Rip's Huddle and the Pastime all rolled into one place. Visit Fred's website at www.fredsbar.com for details.
Fred's will open exclusively for us on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from noon until it is time to leave to get ready for the evening's events. We will have a LUCKY DOG cart on scene for nourishment, and if necessary we will fire up the bbq pits on Fred's deck and burn some burgers, hot dogs and sausage. Our good friend, Marc Fraioli, Fred's proprietor has graciously extended this opportunity for us to have a good time. Our golf outing players will make the turn in the course in front of the deck, and we can greet them as they pass. Fred's will have an ample supply of beverages available at the regular cash bars on site. This is an exclusive gathering only for our 150th Anniversary Zeta Zeta alums and guests.
Brother Caldwell Roberts and his golf outing committee comprised of Caldwell and Brothers Todd Gautreaux, Jason Dupree and Bruce Barkerding met last weekend before the football game and they are making solid progress with the plans for that event. There will be more details to follow on that, so all of you interested in the golf outing should pay attention to these Anniversary updates.
We have in hand a fully executed agreement with the Hilton Capitol Center hotel in downtown Baton Rouge and are waiting on their details so that we can publish room rates and reservation information. This will be done shortly. For extra information on our hotel please visit their website at www.hiltoncapitolcenter.com.
You will also want to visit the following websites to view the tour and shopping opportunities we are working on for everybody's enjoyment.
