Zeta Upsilon of DKE
The Zeta Upsilon chapter of DKE was chartered at the University of California at Davis, in Davis, California, on January 12, 1991. The Zeta Upsilon founding fathers were initiated at the Theta Zeta chapter at U.C. Berkeley by the brothers of Theta Zeta and six brothers from the Theta Upsilon chapter at Arizona State University, including the orchestrating alumnus Bill Kavan, Theta Upsilon ‘92. The Dekes thrived at Davis through the mid-1990s, but the chapter’s charter was revoked late in the decade. Two Deke seniors attempted a recolonization in 1999, and in the spring of 2000 DKE Western Regional Director Paul Mullin worked with a small group who pledged nine men to form a refounding class. Successful rushes followed through the 2003
– 04 school year. Today, the chapter has successfully begun
the restructuring of its alumni group, with the priority of the executive
council being to engage the alumni in forming a solid foundation that the
chapter can grow upon. |
