was chartered at Stanford

University, Stanford, 

California, on December 12,

1901 as the thirteenth

fraternity there.

Founding members had

originally been part of the

Lambda Epsilon chapter of

Phi Gamma Delta that had

given up its charter in a

dispute with the national

fraternity.
